Welcome To Lalala Music!

Hi guys! My name is Patrick Castiglia and I’ll be the host of this show. I like to say I have a split personality. Don’t worry, it’s nothing bad. I only say so because I am both an aspiring musician and a business graduate starting my first ventures. If you want to know more about me, then visit the About section and I’ll introduce myself there. But, anyway, welcome to the show!

What is Lalala Music about?

I started Lalala Music with the belief that I could create a community of musicians that learn and understand what they’re doing with their careers. Having written my thesis on the subject of Pricing Strategies and Customer Segmentation for an Alternative Rock Band, I felt a strong need to further develop on my thoughts there. I believe the main importance for musicians lies in their ability to create, promote, distribute and perform their music. So I chose these as the main categories for this site, because I realized not many musicians know what to do and where to find the right resources. My focus will be to provide remarkable content in these subjects in form of articles, how-to’s, reviews or case studies. The most important thing I wish to accomplish is that we all learn through each other, so your contribution will be vital to the success of Lalala Music.

So what’s with the name?

Yeah, I’m kind of a nut-job when it comes to naming (just imagine how I’m going to name my first child…). I called my band Her Sweet Suicide… why? I won’t tell. But why Lalala Music? 2 reasons:

1. I believe singing la la la is the most natural and primitive way one can sing. I mean, even a baby can do it. So I decided I wanted to find a name that included those words, something easy to remember.
2. The keyword group “lalala music” has around 60’500 global searches per month (as of June 2010)! Imagine ranking on the front page of Google for these words! Of course it will be a challenge, but it’s not impossible!
